For hummus Ingredients
Chick peas (chole chana) – 1 tbsp raw (10 gm)
Olive oil – 1 tsp
Chilli flakes – ¼ tsp
Lemon juice – 1/2 tsp
Curd – 1/2 tsp
Kosher or rock salt – few pinches
Garlic – 1 small clove
For tahini
Ingredients
Sesame seeds – ½ tsp
Water – 1 tbsp
Salt – few pinches
For falalfel Ingredients
Chickpeas 20 gm (2 tbsp raw )
Onion – 1 tbsp chopped
Garlic – 1 small clove
Parsley or coriander – 1 tsp chopped
Flax powder – 2 tsp (10gm)
¼ tsp baking powder
Salt and pepper – to taste
Oil- just for spraying on non-stick pan
Method
Boil chickpeas. Mash it well. Add onion, parsley, garlic, baking powder and seasonings. Mix well.. add flax powder and combine well to make a mashed ball. Refrigerate for 30 min. after 30 min, remove from refrigeration and make 2 small balls, flatten it to make a patty. Shallow fry on a non stick pan till golden brown.
Mix hummus and tahini in a bowl, add patties. Throw in bell peppers, onion roundels, cucumber, tomatoes, olives , cabbage. Toss lightly and serve.
